WIE ZIJN WIJ
DoepelStrijkers is een interdisciplinair ontwerpbureau voor interieur, architectuur en stedelijk ontwerp. Gedreven door een fascinatie voor esthetiek met inhoud, streeft het kantoor ernaar om werken te genereren die het ruimtelijke overstijgen door sociale, ecologische en economische waarde te creëren. Vormgeven aan het proces en financiering is net zo belangrijk als het ontwerp zelf. Ze geloven dat design sociale vernieuwing kan sturen en zijn gedreven om strategieën te ontwikkelen die bijdragen aan een circulaire en inclusieve economie.
COOLOO CIRCULAR CANOPY
Een van de strategieën die worden gebruikt om deze doelen te bereiken, is het sluiten van materiële cycli. Grondstofefficiënte principes vormen de basis van het aanbod gestuurde ontwerpproces, waarbij de hoeveelheid materiaal en afval beperkt is.
Recycled foam blocks of 2m x 2m x 1m form the point of departure for the design. With minimal cutting and waste material, a simple linear element is made that, when combined, forms a long strip of 4m x 0.37m x 0.76m. This soft foam element is rounded along one edge and is fitted with magnets in strategic places before being covered with Cooloo’s coatings. A multiple of configurations are possible, resulting in an array of spatially intriguing compositions. The magnets enable the elements to connect and stay in place, facilitating sitting, lounging and lying configurations.
